Yahweh, Yahweh, a God compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, but abounding with loyal love and faithfulness
Exodus, 34:6
By day Yahweh commands his loyal love,
and in the night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. (Ps 42:9)
I nattens mörker sjunger min Gud.
I waited patiently for Yahweh,
And he inclined to me
and heard my cry for help.
And so he brought me up from the roaring pit,
from the miry clay.
And he put my feet upon a rock;
he made my steps steady.
Then he put a new song in my mouth,
a praise to our God.
Yahweh your God is in your midst;
a mighty warrior who saves.
He shall rejoice over you with joy;
he renews you in his love;
he will exult over you with singing.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Joh 1:1)
Now while they were eating Jesus took bread and, after giving thanks, he broke it, and giving it to the disciples, he said, “Take, eat, this is my body.” 27 And after taking the cup and giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. But I tell you, from now on I will never drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.” And after they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. (Matt 26-30)
For both the one who sanctifies and the ones who are sanctified are all from one, for which reason he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying,
“I will proclaim your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the assembly I will sing in praise of you.”[
